Life at the water's edge
Grikos is what people hope a Greek bay still is: a handful of tavernas at the water, boats swinging on their moorings, and evenings that end when the last table does.
The bay sits on the south-east coast of Patmos, sheltered and calm, about five minutes by car from Skala port. Days here are simple: swim in the morning, lunch in the shade, a walk along the coast to Petra Beach, dinner at the waterfront. Villa En Plo and En Plo Above sit right on this shore — the bay is not a view from the homes, it is their address.
What fills the days
Swimming
The bay is calm and clear, with easy entry along the beach — and for guests of the villas, the sea starts at the door.
Petra Beach
A short walk along the coast, beneath the great rock of Kallikatsou — one of the island's best-loved beaches.
Eating at the water
A handful of tavernas line the bay, all within walking distance of the villas. The family will point you to their favourites.
Walking
Coastal paths lead toward Petra and Diakofti; inland, quiet roads climb toward Chora and the monastery skyline.
